Picked up the mustang today from the mechanic, they sorted my issues out. Too much back pressure from the really old and crumbling cats was causing all sorts of the issues I was having.
Anyone want to buy it? I’m going to passively try and sell it here over the next couple months. I realized I don’t need more than one older, RWD, manual, loud, V8 pony car at a time in my current one garage apartment lifestyle.
165k mi, full mechanical tune up, new interior, everything works (including both keys/remotes), new tires, maximum motor sports suspension setup, solid exterior other than a rear quarter dent (no rust). What’s it worth?

More than you put into it and more than I have. Less than you would think. However, it is very hard to find one as nice as this with so much recent work done. No idea. Prices for these are all over the place. I don’t think I’d pay $6,000 but someone would probably pay more than that.

That’s the struggle I’m having! You either see museum quality examples for stupid money or really trashed $1000 beaters, not a lot of “nice” examples . If I could get $ 6,000 from it I would be very very happy.

I see a lot of trashed beaters listed for 4k but the only ones whose ads are taken down are listed at a quarter of that. $6,000 is my high for an average buyer who just wants a pony car and forgets these are 20 years old.

I think $5k would be a good
settling price, it’s in pretty nice shape for an SN95. Sadly the mods don’t really raise its value, but the new interior and working A/C do.

I would buy and import it because it’s a pain in the ass to buy Mustangs in Canada. However, coronavirus.

How bad is the dent? I am interested, but probably not at a price you’d accept, and I don't want to insult you with low offer on a clean car. Also you’re a few states away lol.

The problem is that I'd show up to buy it, see the TA, and drive away in the Mustang wishing that it were the TA.

The cap on a GT from that era is 4,500. For me at least and that is clean. I wouldn’t pay more than 3,200- 3,700 ish for this example.
There are just so many of them they don’t hold any real value.

These have one of my most UN-favorite interiors of all time. Looks like a hoot though! An d I’m sure whoever buys it will have a blast in it.

And these are at the very bottom of the depreciation cycle. But some people forget these are 20 years old you could maybe get $5,500 for it. I wouldn't pay more than 3k but I'm also not in the market so my word doesn't count for much.

I’m seriously looking for a V8 5 speed Mustang, but my budget is only $4000.
Though, that is pretty average for a V8 pony car price in my area. Nice ones are listed for a lot more, junky ones are listed for a lot less, but there isn’t a lot of options available in the middle of those two options.

It looks great in pictures to be honest.
If it was mine, I’d list it for $5900 and take the first offer over $5k.

Would this be a good car for a teenager who drives to school in a region that receives 72" of snowfall a year and lives at the end of a steep county road ?
All joking aside, you did a nice job. Good luck!

If it checked out as nice in person as it looks online id say $5-6k seems reasonable.

We do, but they're few and far between in Saskatchewan, and usually rusted and beat to hell.

Just curious, where are you located?
I’m seriously looking for a driving GT in the sub $4k range, and they’re not easy to find right now in my area. The only options seem to be overpriced disassembled projects, or $10k pristine “Never seen snow” option.

We do, but at least in Ontario everyone who has one either has....
a really shitty thrashed one with an auto and major issues (can’t drive it home). Fixed with hardware store crap
a shitty thrashed one you can drive home, but shouldn’t. Questionable mods
A passable one with an auto that they want 6k for (add 1000 for manual and 1000 for V8)
A nice manual V8....either ‘I know what I have’ money, or snapped up within the hour

Seems like some dealer could undercut the others at MSRP for big profit via volume.

Looks pretty good, man.
